Dr. Aftab Ahmad is a Consultant Orthopaedics with twenty-five years of clinical experience. After completing his primary medical qualification with distinction, Dr Aftab moved to Ireland where he worked in different hospitals for over 10 years.In 1999, he was awarded FRCS degree in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and began to pursue his aspiration to become an Orthopaedic surgeon.
He worked as a Specialist Registrar on the Overseas Training Programme in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. After qualifying in the Intercollegiate Speciality Board Examinations of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of UK & Ireland, he was awarded the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) degree in 2008.To attain further training and experience in Lower Limb Arthroplasty & Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery, he completed a one-year fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty from the reputable Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Glasgow, UK which is a leading centre for joint replacement surgery.
Before moving to U.A.E he had been working as a Substantive Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Dr Gray’s Hospital, NHS Grampian for over 10 years as a General Orthopaedic Surgeon with interest in Lower Limb Joint replacement using Computer Navigation and trauma at a District hospital level.
