Dr Mohammed Zeki Ahmed is a vascular and non-vascular interventional radiologist. Prior to joining Burjeel medical city, Dr. Ahmed was working as a Consultant Interventional Radiologist in SEHA hospitals (Alain and Tawam hospitals) for the last 6 years.
Dr. Ahmed graduated in 1996 from Mosul College of Medicine, Mosul, Iraq. He completed two years of surgical training (vascular) in Leeds/Bradford hospitals in the UK and obtained MRCS in 2005. He completed his Certificate of Speciality Training (CCST) in Radiology from Hull and Yorkshire training academy in 2010.
He moved to London and finished one year fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology from the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust- Centre for Hepato-Pancreatic-Biliary (HPB) Surgery and Liver Transplantation. Then, he went back to Hull and served as full time vascular interventional radiologist consultant at Hull University Hospital for 5 years.
Dr. Ahmed is one of the first few radiologists to hold HAAD (DOH) Interventional Radiology licence after passing the HAAD IR speciality exam.
He has more than 11 years of work experience in all aspects of vascular and non-vascular interventional radiology.
His Major interests are in vascular and venous intervention, such as angioplasty, renal access work and non-vascular intervention. Extensive experience in the interventional management of patients with major trauma who require embolization and endovascular treatment. He is expertise in embolotherapy in treatment of uterine fibroids, BPH, malignancies and minimally invasive treatments for tumours.
