Dr. Terence Leslie De Silva

Dr. Terence Leslie De Silva hails from Malaysia, and is a Specialist Physician at the Burjeel Hospitals. He is currently clinically in charge of the network’s Emergency Medicine delivery systems. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience of over two decades in the field, having worked with top hospitals both in the Private and Government sectors in the management of Emergency Medicine and Mass Casualty related fields. He has planned and operated local and national assignments of medical emergencies of high-risk nature, including the development of standard policies and procedures for the management of medico-legal issues, public health related emergencies, and has either participated or led national events including motor sports, marathons, refugee medical camps and more.
Dr. Terence has been instrumental in the planning and commissioning of some Emergency and Occupational Health Service units, is actively involved in the training of medical faculties, and in creating the SOPs for managing mass casualty incidents (and critical response plans). On several occasions he was selected as a consultant and advisor by the health department, government agencies and committees for expert guidance and directions.
Dr. Terence was also an academician, and held the post of Clinical Asst Professor for a local University in Malaysia. He currently serves as an Instructor for the Advanced Trauma Life Support Program (under the College of Surgeons USA.) Dr. Terence was actively involved in Disaster Training, and other similar Life Support Workshops at various forums and medical schools.
