Paediatric surgery is a subspeciality of surgery involving surgery of foetuses, infants, children, and adolescents. As pediatric surgeons, we are primarily concerned with the diagnosis, pre-operative and postoperative management of surgical problems in children and newborns. Recognising and correcting these problems surgically will ensure the “good quality of life” their parents are hoping for.
Division of Pediatric Surgery at Burjeel Medical City (BMC) understand the special needs of children and are renowned for their unique surgical expertise and skills and their research, which is targeted at developing new techniques and medicines that make surgery both safe and effective. Our expert faculty and staff are committed to delivering comprehensive and compassionate family-centered care, conducting innovative medical research, and providing the best for the children.
Our services as a tertiary hospital have extended to treat patients referred to us from other hospitals within the UAE as well as from nearby gulf countries. With our advanced neonatal intensive care unit we are managing to care for very sick neonates with surgical problems.
To continuously improve our services to cope with international standards we are publishing our clinical data on a yearly basis in order to compare it with the best pediatric surgery practices from all over the world.
From the frontlines of patient care to the forefront of discovery, our dedication to kids never stops.
